Uber and Lyft Accident Attorneys in Aventura and Hallandale

An Uber or Lyft accident may look like an ordinary motor-vehicle collision, but the insurance, evidence, and liability issues can be substantially more complicated. A rideshare injury claim requires identifying who caused the accident, the driver’s precise app status, and the policies covering the loss. Whether the driver was offline, waiting for a request, traveling to an accepted pickup, or carrying a passenger can affect which insurance coverage applies. An empty rideshare vehicle may already be in the accepted-ride insurance period before the passenger enters.

Uber and Lyft commercial coverage changes with the driver’s app and ride status, while the driver’s personal automobile policy may contain a rideshare or public-livery exclusion. Several potentially applicable policies and insurers may require investigation. A passenger’s own PIP coverage may follow the passenger into the Uber or Lyft, and personal or qualifying resident-relative uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may be important when another driver caused the crash. Coordinating Florida PIP benefits with bodily-injury liability and UM/UIM claims requires examining each policy separately.

What Makes a Hallandale Beach Rideshare Accident Claim Different

Uber and Lyft claims can involve personal-policy rideshare exclusions, several insurers, and electronic evidence unavailable from an ordinary crash report. Liability coverage for a driver is different from PIP or UM benefits potentially available to the injured person.

A passenger's receipt, the driver's account records, and the crash timeline may tell different parts of the story. A car with no passenger inside may already be traveling to an accepted ride. A driver who just dropped someone off may have accepted another request. Someone injured in another vehicle may have a claim involving rideshare coverage without ever opening either app.

The claim also needs proof of the injuries. We investigate medical causation, treatment, work restrictions, future needs, and any allegation that an earlier condition explains the symptoms. Establishing coverage is only one part of building the case.

Who We Represent After an Uber or Lyft Accident

Rideshare injury claims can involve people inside and outside the Uber or Lyft vehicle. We evaluate the injured person's role, the drivers' conduct, and the applicable coverage.

Injured Uber and Lyft Passengers

A passenger may have a claim against the rideshare driver, another negligent driver, or both. When the insurers blame each other, we investigate the collision independently. The passenger should not have to accept an adjuster's version simply because the companies disagree.

Passengers may suffer head injuries, neck and back injuries, fractures, shoulder or knee injuries, or aggravation of an existing condition. The medical records must connect the claimed injuries and limitations to the collision.

Drivers and Passengers in Other Vehicles

You do not have to be an Uber or Lyft customer to pursue a negligent rideshare driver. A person rear-ended on Hallandale Beach Boulevard or injured in an intersection collision may have a claim involving the driver's rideshare insurance. Our Hallandale Beach car accident lawyer page addresses the broader collision investigation.

Pedestrians Bicyclists and Motorcyclists

A rideshare driver may injure someone while turning, reversing, stopping for a pickup, or entering a driveway. The investigation should address visibility, right of way, crossing location, speed, and the opportunity to avoid impact.

Motorcycle claims require separate attention to coverage and injury-threshold issues. Ordinary automobile PIP rules should not simply be applied to a motorcycle injury. Our motorcycle accident page discusses those distinctions.

Uber and Lyft Drivers Injured by Another Motorist

Driving for a rideshare service does not eliminate a claim against another negligent motorist. We examine that motorist's coverage and the injured driver's available benefits. Personal-policy exclusions, rideshare endorsements, and the applicable platform policy need individual review.

Families After a Fatal Rideshare Accident

When a collision causes death, Florida's wrongful-death law governs the action brought through the estate's personal representative. The damages available to survivors and the estate depend on the family relationships and circumstances. These cases also require careful coordination of the investigation and estate proceedings.

How Uber and Lyft Liability Insurance Works in Florida

Florida establishes the same basic statutory rideshare liability periods for Uber and Lyft. Under section 627.748, the requirements change with the driver's status.

App off: Personal automobile insurance and any applicable commercial, rental, or fleet policy must be examined. Do not assume a platform policy applies.

App on and waiting for a request: Florida requires primary liability coverage of at least $50,000 for bodily injury or death per person, $100,000 per incident, and $25,000 for property damage.

Ride accepted and traveling to pickup: The statutory requirement is at least $1 million in primary automobile liability coverage for death, bodily injury, and property damage.

Passenger being transported: The accepted-ride requirement continues until the last rider exits and no longer occupies the vehicle.

These are liability requirements, not promised settlement amounts. Qualifying coverage can be maintained by the TNC, driver, vehicle owner, or a permitted combination. The accident-date policies, endorsements, insured status, and facts determine which insurer responds.

Why the Acceptance Time Matters

Suppose a Lyft driver accepts a pickup at Gulfstream Park and causes a crash before reaching the passenger. The vehicle being empty does not establish that the driver was merely waiting for work. An acceptance record can resolve that factual dispute.

Likewise, a canceled trip or a newly accepted request may require a closer examination of the timeline. We seek the underlying records rather than relying only on the driver's description.

Uber and Lyft Policies Must Be Reviewed Separately

The statutory framework does not make the companies' policies identical. Insurers, endorsements, and policy provisions may differ. Online summaries and certificates are useful starting points, but they do not replace the policy covering the date of the collision.

We identify the claim administrator and actual insurer, request the applicable documents, and examine any coverage denial against the policy and facts. Florida's TNC statute does not make platform-policy coverage dependent on a personal automobile insurer first denying the claim. A personal-policy exclusion should not end the coverage investigation.

For additional platform-specific information, see our Uber accident lawyer page and Lyft accident lawyer page.

Who Pays Medical Bills After a Rideshare Accident

PIP is an early source of benefits to investigate. A passenger's own policy or qualifying household coverage may apply; if neither exists, coverage associated with the occupied vehicle may become relevant under the statutory priority rules. Visitors require an individual review of their residency and insurance.

Under Florida's PIP statute, initial care generally must occur within 14 days. PIP generally pays 80% of covered medical expenses and 60% of covered lost income, subject to limits and other requirements. An emergency medical condition affects eligibility for medical benefits up to $10,000; a lower $2,500 medical limit may otherwise apply.

Get necessary care promptly. Health insurance and other available medical coverage may also matter while the liability claim is pending. We track bills, payments, and potential reimbursement obligations when evaluating a proposed settlement.

Does Uber or Lyft Provide Uninsured Motorist Coverage

Do not assume the rideshare liability limit includes an equal amount of uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage. UM/UIM is a different coverage question. It can matter when another driver flees, has no bodily-injury coverage, or has limits insufficient for the injuries.

Florida's rideshare statute refers to UM/UIM coverage as required by section 627.727. In Progressive Express Insurance Co. v. Monasterio, an unpublished federal appellate decision involving an Uber driver, the court held that UM coverage was not required under the particular policy. The policy covered unspecified vehicles, and the corporate policyholder had signed a written rejection. That decision does not establish the terms of every Uber or Lyft policy or decide every passenger's claim.

We examine the rideshare policy, rejection documents, and the injured person's own or qualifying resident-relative coverage. Insured status, exclusions, stacking, and notice requirements can change the analysis. Our uninsured motorist lawyer page explains those issues.

Who Can Be Responsible for a Rideshare Accident

Fault depends on the conduct that caused the injury. A rideshare driver may be responsible for an unsafe turn, failure to yield, distracted driving, speeding, or a rear-end collision. Another motorist may bear responsibility, or more than one driver may have contributed.

Vehicle ownership, rental arrangements, maintenance, or another employment relationship can warrant further investigation. A rental company is not automatically responsible merely because it owns the vehicle. Ownership and contracts need to be evaluated alongside the conduct alleged to have caused the harm.

Can You Sue Uber or Lyft Directly in Florida?

A claim directly against Uber or Lyft is not automatic when a rideshare driver causes a crash. Florida's transportation-network-company statute conditionally treats drivers as independent contractors and provides substantial company protections when its requirements are met.

In Haddad v. Lyft Florida, Inc., decided May 13, 2026, the Fourth District Court of Appeal interpreted section 627.748(18) broadly when affirming dismissal of direct misrepresentation claims against Lyft arising from an alleged driver assault. The decision concerns statutory protection for the company, not a finding that every injured rider lacks a claim. Read the Haddad opinion

Company statutory compliance, criminal wrongdoing, and whether the company owned or was bailee of the vehicle can affect that analysis. A direct claim requires supporting facts and applicable law. The statute's protections do not eliminate the negligent driver's potential liability or reduce the required rideshare insurance limits.

How Shared Fault Affects Your Claim

For negligence actions governed by section 768.81, damages are reduced by the injured person's share of fault, and a person more than 50% responsible for their own harm cannot recover. An insurer's accusation is not a finding of fault.

Uber and Lyft Accidents Around Hallandale Beach

The place of impact, pickup instructions, and direction of travel can help establish how a rideshare accident happened and where evidence may exist. A crash outside a condominium entrance calls for a different investigation from a collision at a signal or in a parking area.

Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Federal Highway

A collision on Hallandale Beach Boulevard may involve a turn toward a pickup, a lane change, or a rear-end impact as traffic slows. Near Federal Highway, the investigation may focus on signal timing, turning movements, lane position, and each driver's opportunity to avoid the crash.

If the driver changed lanes to reach a passenger or followed a last-minute route instruction, app records and messages may help explain that movement. They must be compared with witnesses, video, vehicle damage, and the roadway layout. A pickup instruction does not excuse unsafe driving.

Gulfstream Park Pickups and Drop Offs

Gulfstream Park is located at 901 South Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach. After a rideshare accident at an entrance, parking area, or passenger loading point, preserve the exact location rather than describing it only as a crash at Gulfstream. The driver's route, stopping position, passenger movements, and nearby cameras may help establish the sequence. A vehicle pulling away before a passenger has safely exited presents different issues from another motorist striking a stopped Uber or Lyft. If a pavement condition caused a fall, a separate premises-liability investigation may be needed. Keep any messages describing where the driver would meet you. The app's pickup pin may not identify the place where the vehicle actually stopped.

Ocean Drive Beach Access and Condominium Entrances

Along Ocean Drive, rideshare passengers may be traveling to a condominium, hotel, restaurant, or public beach access. North City Beach Park and South City Beach Park are local destinations that may help identify a trip's origin or destination. For an injury during boarding or unloading, we examine where the driver stopped, whether the car moved, how the passenger exited, and what surrounding traffic was doing. A beachfront address alone does not establish fault. Photographs of the curb, driveway, loading area, and sightlines can help explain what occurred. Condominium or hotel cameras may show a vehicle entering, stopping, or leaving even when they do not capture the entire collision. Identifying the building and camera custodian promptly helps direct preservation requests.

Three Islands and Golden Isles Pickups

A rideshare trip to or from Three Islands or Golden Isles may involve a residential driveway, guest entrance, or condominium loading area. Save the building name, street address, pickup instructions, and any messages about gates or access. If an Uber or Lyft collides with a vehicle entering or leaving a property, parked cars, landscaping, lighting, and the vehicles' positions may affect the liability analysis. We compare the driver's account with the physical and electronic evidence.

Aventura Uber and Lyft Accident Lawyer

We also represent people injured in Aventura Uber and Lyft accidents, including passengers, rideshare drivers, and people struck by a rideshare vehicle. The same Florida insurance framework applies, but an Aventura claim needs its own investigation of the roadway, pickup location, witnesses, and available records.

A trip from Hallandale Beach to Aventura may pass through several intersections and entrances before the passenger reaches the destination. The receipt identifies the ride; it may not identify exactly where the collision happened or when the driver accepted the request. We compare the app records with the crash location and timing.

Aventura Mall Pickups and Drop Offs

Aventura Mall is at 19501 Biscayne Boulevard. For an injury at an entrance, garage, or passenger loading area, preserve the exact location and messages describing where the driver would meet you. A pickup pin may differ from the place where the driver actually stopped. A driver who pulls away before a passenger clears the car creates a different liability question from a motorist who hits a properly stopped rideshare. A pavement-related fall can raise a separate property claim. We investigate the cause before deciding which parties and policies belong in the case.

Biscayne Boulevard and Aventura Boulevard Collisions

On Biscayne Boulevard and near Aventura Boulevard, the evidence may need to explain a turn, lane change, signal dispute, or rear-end impact. The driver's route and passenger communications can help establish why the vehicle moved toward a particular entrance. Those records must be tested against video, sightlines, vehicle damage, and witness observations. A passenger in an Uber struck by another driver may face competing accounts from the insurers. An independent investigation can address each driver's conduct and identify the coverage available for the resulting injuries.

Country Club Drive and Condominium Entrances

Pickups along East and West Country Club Drive may involve guest entrances, gates, driveways, and loading areas. Save the building name, street address, and instructions about access. Condominium security footage may show the approach, stop, or departure even when the impact occurred beyond the camera's view. For a driveway collision, vehicle positions, parked cars, landscaping, and lighting may affect visibility. For an unloading injury, the relevant question may be whether the car moved while the passenger was exiting. The claim should explain the actual sequence rather than relying only on the trip's destination.

Brightline Connections and the Actual Crash Location

Brightline Aventura Station is at 19796 West Dixie Highway. A rideshare connection can involve a station pickup or a route between the station, Aventura destinations, and Hallandale Beach. Keep both the rideshare record and relevant travel information when they help establish the timeline. The station name, mailing address, and app destination do not establish the jurisdiction of a nearby collision. We confirm the actual location and investigating agency before requesting public records. Our Aventura car accident guide discusses the broader local collision investigation.

Pickup and Drop Off Injuries Without a Conventional Crash

A rideshare injury can occur without two vehicles colliding. A driver may move before a passenger is seated, pull away while someone exits, or choose a stopping position that exposes the passenger to moving traffic. An opened door can also create a hazard for an approaching bicyclist or motorcyclist.

For an Ocean Drive hotel or condominium pickup, preserve the curb location, door involved, loading instructions, and any video showing movement. An injury at a Gulfstream Park pickup may require identifying the particular entrance and the location of both the passenger and vehicle. The trip status, cause of injury, and applicable policy provisions must be evaluated together.

What to Do After an Uber or Lyft Accident in Hallandale Beach

1.Get medical help. Call 911 when appropriate and report symptoms accurately. Your health comes first.

2.Identify everyone involved. Save driver names, plates, vehicle-owner information, and insurance details. Record which car you occupied.

3.Save the app record. Preserve the trip ID, receipt, driver's profile, pickup and destination, route, and messages. Keep original electronic files when possible.

4.Photograph the scene safely. Capture vehicle positions, damage, signals, lane markings, entrances, debris, and visible injuries without entering traffic.

5.Get witness contacts. Ask what the witness actually saw rather than asking them to decide who was at fault.

6.Identify cameras. Record nearby businesses, condominium entrances, parking facilities, and vehicles with dashcams. Footage may be overwritten quickly.

7.Report the collision. An app report does not replace required police reporting, insurance notice, or preservation of evidence.

8.Keep treatment and income records. Save medical bills, work restrictions, missed-work dates, pay records, and insurer correspondence.

9.Obtain advice before signing a release. A settlement may end claims even if further treatment becomes necessary.

If injuries prevent you from collecting evidence, focus on treatment. Family members may help preserve records, and a lawyer can identify additional sources.

Evidence That Can Establish a Hallandale Beach Rideshare Claim

The strongest investigation connects the trip timeline with the physical collision evidence and medical proof. A screenshot can be useful without answering every disputed question. We distinguish records that establish coverage from evidence proving negligence, injuries, and financial loss.

App Activity and Driver Communications

Acceptance, cancellation, GPS, and message records can help explain the driver's status and route. If the driver used both Uber and Lyft, we examine each platform separately. Multiple open apps do not automatically establish distraction or overlapping coverage.

In a claims coverage investigation, Florida law requires a TNC, upon a directly involved party's request, to provide precise login and logout times for the 12 hours before and after the crash. Other records may require separate requests or discovery. Login history and ride-acceptance history serve different purposes.

Local Video Police Records and Vehicle Evidence

We identify the agency that investigated the crash and the custodians of relevant video. If Hallandale Beach Police handled it, the city's records request page provides a starting point. A crash elsewhere may require a request to another agency.

Gulfstream Park and storefront cameras, condominium and hotel security systems, witness phones, and dashcams may provide evidence. A visible camera does not establish that footage was recorded or retained. Traffic systems also should not be assumed to archive usable video.

Vehicle photographs, inspection, and available event data may help explain braking, movement, and impact. Repairs and disposal can affect what remains available. Our Hallandale Beach car accident guide discusses the broader collision investigation and injury claims. A report or citation does not automatically resolve civil fault; additional evidence may explain facts the responding officer could not determine.

Can App and Cellphone Records Prove Distracted Driving?

Phone activity may support a distraction claim when it can be connected to the moments before impact. Ride offers, navigation, messages, and other applications may be relevant, especially when a driver was looking for an entrance or communicating about a pickup.

Having Uber or Lyft open does not prove the driver looked at the screen or caused the crash. We compare available device records with video, witness observations, reaction time, sightlines, and the vehicle's movement. GPS information also needs evaluation before drawing conclusions about speed or precise position.

Two Examples of Hallandale Beach Rideshare Coverage Questions

These are fictional illustrations, not firm results or predictions of compensation.

An Empty Lyft Traveling to an Accepted Gulfstream Park Pickup

A Lyft driver accepts a passenger request at Gulfstream Park, then causes an intersection crash on the way. The injured person is in another car. The acceptance timestamp and crash time help establish the driver's coverage period. Evidence of fault and injury remains necessary; the available limit does not establish the claim's value.

An Uber Passenger Injured by a Hit and Run Driver

A passenger is riding toward a condominium on Ocean Drive when another motorist hits the Uber and flees. If the Uber driver was not negligent, its liability policy does not become a substitute for the fleeing motorist's insurance. We investigate identifying evidence and available UM coverage, including the passenger's own or qualifying household policy.

What Happens After a Rideshare Hit and Run Accident?

A hit-and-run can leave the identity of the responsible motorist and the source of compensation uncertain. Report the crash promptly, save any partial plate or vehicle description, and identify witnesses and cameras. Debris, paint transfer, dashcam recordings, and nearby security footage may help establish the collision or identify the fleeing vehicle.

Driver identification and coverage investigation can proceed together. We evaluate available UM coverage and address the policy's notice and proof requirements. If evidence shows that the rideshare driver also contributed to the crash, a liability claim against that driver may need to be examined. Our hit-and-run accident page explains these evidence and insurance questions.

Compensation After an Uber or Lyft Accident

An injury claim may include supported medical expenses, lost wages, reduced future earning capacity, property damage, and legally recoverable noneconomic damages. Serious injuries can require evaluation of future treatment, assistance at home, and lasting limitations.

Under section 627.737, covered motor-vehicle claims generally require a qualifying injury for pain-and-suffering damages. Qualifying categories include permanent injury within reasonable medical probability, significant permanent loss of an important bodily function, significant permanent scarring or disfigurement, or death. Applicability must be evaluated for the particular claim.

We address what the injury prevents you from doing and what evidence supports that loss. A rideshare policy's limit is not an estimate of your recovery. Multiple injured people, disputed fault, medical causation, available coverage, and reimbursement obligations can all affect the resolution.

How Dan Prepares Your Rideshare Case

Dan personally investigates the facts, evaluates coverage, and develops the evidence needed for negotiations and litigation. Early work may include preservation requests, witness interviews, policy requests, vehicle inspection, and expert involvement when warranted.

As treatment progresses, he reviews the medical proof, work limitations, and future needs. If insurers dispute whether the accident caused the injuries, the case must address prior history and any aggravation accurately.

A settlement demand should answer the issues the insurer would raise in court. The evidence may need to explain impact mechanics, medical causation, the reason for ongoing treatment, and how the injury affects work and ordinary activities. Dan discusses material offers directly with the client; the client decides whether to accept. When a fair resolution cannot be reached, he evaluates suit and prepares the case for litigation and trial when necessary.

Why Hallandale Beach Clients Choose Daniel B Reinfeld

Dan has practiced law since 1999 and brings prior insurance-defense experience to the representation of injured people. He understands how insurers challenge fault, coverage, treatment, causation, and damages, and prepares the evidence with those disputes in mind. Dan has lived in Hollywood since 1985, and his family has been part of the Hollywood community since 1967. He represents injured people in neighboring Hallandale Beach from his Hollywood office. Each claim receives an investigation directed to the actual roadway, pickup location, available evidence, and disputed issues. Dan obtained a $1.6 million unanimous jury verdict in a motor-vehicle case involving an injured pedestrian. TopVerdict recognized it among Florida's Top 100 Personal Injury Verdicts and Top 10 Pedestrian Accident Verdicts of 2024. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Clients speak directly with the attorney responsible for developing, negotiating, and preparing their case. Dan limits the litigation and trial cases he accepts so that clients receive personal attention. Learn more about his background on Daniel Reinfeld's attorney profile.

Deadlines and the Cost of Representation

Most Florida negligence claims arising from recent rideshare accidents are subject to a two-year filing period under section 95.11. Different claims, older accidents, exceptions, and notice requirements can change the analysis. Do not assume that reporting a claim to Uber, Lyft, or an insurer preserves the right to sue. Evidence can disappear long before a filing deadline. Prompt review helps identify both the legal deadlines and the records that need preservation. Free consultations are available. Injury representation is handled on a contingency-fee basis: no recovery means no attorney's fee. The written agreement explains the fee percentage and how case costs are handled.

Frequently Asked Questions About Uber and Lyft Accidents in Hallandale Beach and Nearby Communities

What should I do immediately after an Uber or Lyft accident in Hallandale Beach?

Get necessary medical care, report the crash, and preserve the trip record and scene evidence when it is safe. Save driver and witness information, the receipt, messages, and photographs. If you cannot gather evidence because of your injuries, treatment comes first.

Can I make a claim if I was injured in an Uber or Lyft at Gulfstream Park?

Yes, if someone's negligence caused the injury. The investigation should identify the particular entrance or loading area, vehicle movement, passenger position, and any available video. A claim may involve a collision, boarding, or unloading; a property-related fall presents a different question.

Can you handle an Aventura Uber or Lyft accident even though this page focuses on Hallandale Beach?

Yes. Dan represents people injured in Aventura rideshare accidents as well as Hallandale Beach claims from his Hollywood office. For an Aventura Mall, Biscayne Boulevard, or Country Club Drive accident, he investigates the actual pickup location, collision evidence, driver status, and policies.

Do you handle rideshare accidents in Hollywood and Dania Beach?

Yes. Dan represents injured rideshare passengers, drivers, and other road users in Hollywood and Dania Beach. A hotel, airport-related trip, or other destination does not by itself determine fault or coverage. The driver's activity and actual place of injury guide the investigation.

Can you represent someone injured in an Uber or Lyft in Sunny Isles Beach or North Miami Beach?

Yes. The firm represents injured people in those communities. A ride beginning in Hallandale Beach or Aventura may end or involve a crash elsewhere. Save the entire trip record and confirm the exact crash location so the correct records and responsible parties can be identified.

Does the million dollar liability requirement begin before the passenger gets into the Uber or Lyft?

Yes. The accepted-ride requirement begins when the driver accepts the passenger's request, including travel to pickup. The acceptance timestamp can matter when an insurer describes an empty vehicle as waiting for work.

What coverage applies when the driver is logged in but has not accepted a ride?

Florida's waiting-period liability minimums are $50,000 for bodily injury or death per person, $100,000 per incident, and $25,000 for property damage. Those limits differ from the accepted-ride requirement. The app records and accident-date policies must be matched to the crash.

Does a million dollar policy mean my rideshare injury claim is worth a million dollars?

No. Claim value depends on fault, injury, medical proof, lost income, future needs, and other supported losses. The policy limit describes potential coverage under that policy, subject to its terms and competing claims. It does not establish the damages caused by the accident.

What if the driver was using Uber and Lyft at the same time?

Each platform's status and policy need separate review. We examine whether a passenger request had been accepted, the driver's activity before impact, and the accident timeline. Multiple open apps do not automatically prove negligence or establish that both policies pay.

Who pays when another driver hits my Uber or Lyft and the insurers blame each other?

The evidence must establish each driver's responsibility and the coverage available for the injury. The negligent driver's policy is investigated; if the rideshare driver also contributed, another liability claim may exist. An insurer's disagreement does not decide the passenger's rights.

Can I pursue a rideshare driver if I was in my own car or walking?

Yes. You do not have to be a paying Uber or Lyft passenger to pursue a negligent rideshare driver. The driver's app status and insurance still matter, along with the benefits and other coverage available to you.

Can I receive PIP benefits if I do not own a car?

Possibly. Qualifying household coverage or coverage associated with the occupied vehicle may apply under Florida's priority rules. We examine residency and insurance relationships before concluding that no benefits are available.

What if I was visiting Hallandale Beach or Aventura when the accident happened?

You may have an injury claim even if you live elsewhere. Preserve the trip record and medical information, including follow-up treatment after returning home. Your residency and policies can affect the benefits analysis; being a visitor does not by itself establish or defeat coverage.

Does Uber or Lyft automatically provide a million dollars in uninsured motorist coverage?

No. The liability requirement does not automatically establish equivalent UM/UIM coverage. The actual rideshare policy and rejection documents need review, along with your own or qualifying household coverage. A liability policy is not automatically a source of compensation when an unrelated uninsured driver caused the injury.

Can my own uninsured motorist policy cover an Uber or Lyft accident?

Potentially. Your policy or qualifying resident-relative coverage may apply when another responsible driver is uninsured or underinsured. Insured status, exclusions, stacking, notice, and the accident facts determine eligibility. Coverage for a passenger and coverage for a working rideshare driver can present different issues.

What if I was injured getting out of a rideshare at an Ocean Drive condominium or hotel?

An unloading injury may support a claim when negligent vehicle movement or stopping caused it. A dangerous property condition may require a separate investigation. Save the trip record, building address, messages, entrance photographs, and witness information.

Can a rideshare accident aggravate a preexisting back or neck condition?

Yes, when medical evidence supports an aggravation caused by the accident. Disclose the earlier condition accurately. The records and medical opinions should explain your previous symptoms and the changes in pain, function, or treatment after the collision.

Can an injured Uber or Lyft driver make a claim against another motorist?

Yes. A rideshare driver can pursue a motorist whose negligence caused the injury. Available first-party benefits and UM coverage require their own review. The platform's liability policy does not automatically compensate its driver for injuries caused by someone else.

Where do I request the crash report for a Hallandale Beach rideshare accident?

Request it from the investigating agency. Hallandale Beach provides a police-records request process through its city website. A collision near a municipal boundary or on a trip to Aventura may have been investigated by another agency; confirm the report number and actual location.

How long do I have to file a Florida Uber or Lyft accident lawsuit?

Most negligence claims arising from recent Florida rideshare crashes are subject to a two-year filing period. The accident date, claim type, applicable exceptions, and any notice requirements need review. Reporting the claim through an app or negotiating with an insurer does not substitute for timely filing suit.

How long will an Uber or Lyft injury claim take?

There is no fixed timetable. Disputed fault, coverage, treatment, prognosis, and whether litigation is needed can affect the timing. Dan discusses the client's priorities and available options without promising a settlement date. A claim should not be valued before the injuries and supported future needs can be reasonably assessed.

Will Dan personally handle my case and what does a consultation cost?

Yes. Dan personally handles cases accepted by the firm, including investigation, negotiations, and litigation or trial when necessary. The consultation is free. Injury representation is on a contingency-fee basis, and the written agreement explains attorney's fees and case costs.
